Cancellation
To make sure you won’t be charged when canceling your sailing trip owing to exceptional circumstances, you can take out a cancellation insurance. You can also take out a cancellation insurance which includes the whole group. Coverage
The standard cancellation insurance covers the costs of cancellation (total sum divided by the total number of participants) in the event of severe illness, accidents or death concerning the insured participant. It also covers the costs of cancellation in the event of severe illness, accidents or death of the insured person’s blood relations in first or second degree, his/her roommates, or other third degree relations (only when stated explicitly in the policy), etc.
You would like to cancel the whole group (and not only one participant): you need to take out an extended cancellation insurance that covers all the participants. The risk that the ship cannot sail due to fire or explosion is insured as well. Compensation
When canceling a trip, the indebted part of the total sum is compensated. When the trip is interrupted or cancelled during the outing, pro-rata compensation will follow, as well as a compensation for the interrupted/cancelled day(s), consisting of € 23 per insured person of 16 years and older, with a maximum of € 230 per group.
Costs (excl. Policy costs)
Standard cancellation insurance: 4,5% of the total sum.
Group cancellation insurance (optional): 1% (total 5,5%) of the total sum.
Extended group cancellation insurance (optional): 1% (total 6,5%) of the total sum.
