Route disciption
From the South …follow the ring A10 (Amsterdam) through the Coentunnel or the Zeeburgertunnel till exit S116 (VOLENDAM/ CENTRUM), towards Volendam (onto)/, the N247. After Broek In Waterland and a few kilometres, take the first exit Monnickendam. Make a right-hand turn, go over the bridge, straight-ahead till the roundabout (?). Make a left-hand turn at the roundabout and a right-hand turn after 20 metres, make a left-hand turn directly thereafter to go along the water (this road is only prohibited for busses(?)); now you are at ‘t Prooyen, where after 100 metres you will find the boats docked at wharf.
From the North …take the Afsluitdijk and/ or the A7 till exit number 7 (AVENHORN). Make a left-hand turn, go underneath the highway/ motorway and make a right-hand turn directly thereafter. Via N247, past Edam and Volendam till the second exit Monnickendam. As of this point, you can follow the directions here above.
Parking…
Parking in the blue zone along Het Prooyen is allowed for a maximum time of 2 hours; exclusively short-term parking. Before entering Het Prooyen, there are a few free parking-places in the harbour. Or you can go make a right-hand turn, where after 100 metres you will find the car-park of nature park Hemmeland. Other free parking-places can be found at P2 (Lakeland Hotel) or at P4(Het Bolwerk, at the big church/ Grote Kerk).
